If 42 inch and under is what you’re after, a plasma television isn’t for you, as they don’t manufacture plasma units that small – but LCD TV sets come in all sizes, ranging from the very large flat panel televisions, to the very small flat TVs . Also, LCD tends to be cheaper than plasma when both TVs are the same size. That makes LCD a more economical alternative, as well as a safer option for prolonged television use. Plasma is best reserved for movies or sporting events, where only limited use of your flat panel TV will be required. A plasma TV is more about great high definition picture quality in short bursts, but an LCD flat panel TV will provide good quality for a more versatile range of uses.
After you’ve decided which flat panel television meets your standards best, a large retail chain like Sears or Radio Shack has plenty of options at competitive prices. They also offer delivery, which is very handy if you’re purchasing a large television that won’t be easy to manage on your own. But make sure you shop around at a few stores, before settling on any certain flat panel televisions. That way you can get the best flat television set at the lowest price possible.
